The different types of yarn are used in order to produce many things, such as clothes and other material -- one of those special ones is the use FDY. Fibretwist - Picture credit Fibre Twist This yarn is produced in different and long process which contains several important steps. In order to understand why this process is so fascinating, we are going to examine the way how a FDY yarn is made step by step.
One of the first steps in manufacturing FDY yarn is to obtain our materials. Polyester Chips are the main stuff to produce FDY yarn. This is what the tiny bits of plastic chips used to create yarn look like. A special machine melts these polyester chips to initiate the process. The chips are melted until liquid and thick. The liquid polyester is finally filtered to separate and get rid of dirt bits or other stuff that made their way in at some point during the melting.
After the polyester is melted, it needs to be spun into fibers. The liquid polyester is pushed through tiny holes of a machine known as spinneret. Despite its small size, the holes are very smaller in nature too which cannot be seen by naked eyes akin to his head eye of a needle!!! Then it cools down rapidly in jets of air as the melted polyester exits through those little holes. This is intended to solidify the fibers from a liquid back into solids.
Next its fibers are formed which when passed to the stretcher and twister, the required strength an texture is imparted to them. This is done using a machine named as godet. How it works As the previously formed fibers are pulled by means of driven godets through sets of drawing rollers, which stretch and twist them as they travel in-stream from a drafting zone to a winding face. This phase of stretching and twisting is essential in order to fully strength the fibers by aligning them properly.
FDY yarn manufacturing is a process that requires close attention and accuracy. Producing the yarn takes a great deal of care and attention to produce high quality yarn. The most critical part of this process occurs during the spinning, where fibers are extruded through microscopic holes in the spinneret. A crucial step in this process is controlling the size and shape of these holes. If the fibers are not of an appropriate size, they may produce too big or too small threads and effect finally knitting chain.
The stretching and twisting of the fibers are also an essential part when creating FDY yarn. This step requires very careful execution, if the fibers are not stretched and twisted exactly right it wreaks havoc later on. When this is done incorrectly, it can result in the final yarn becoming fragile or having irregular texture. After all, each part is very crucial in the bigger picture for everything to work out just right!
We — before we know about the making FDY yarn, have a brief look at what polyester actually is. Polyester is a synthetic fiber that has high resistance and firmness. That makes it longlasting even with daily use hence the good run you will have of this stick. One of the best things about polyester is it can be ironed and resistant to wrinkles, shrinking or stretching too. This makes polyester a great choice for almost any kind of clothing, as well as bedding and just about anything else you can think of.
